Attorney Ray Hsu earned his undergraduate degrees at the University of Arizona in Communications and Media Arts, also earning a minor in Japanese Language Studies, while also graduating magna cum laude. Mr. Hsu made the Dean’s List with the Highest Academic Distinction Award for the 2002-2003 school year. He also held leadership positions, such as Vice President of Taiwanese Students Association and the Japanese Language & Culture Club.

Attorney Ray Hsu attended UC Hastings College of the Law, where he graduated with a civil litigation law concentration. In addition to his academics, he was the President of the Hastings Chinese Language & Culture Club and a trial team member for the American Bar Association, Labor & Employment Law Trial Competition.

Attorney Ray Hsu has experience and expertise in Labor & Employment Law, Administrative Law, and Civil Litigation Law. He was a judicial extern for the Administrative Law Judges of the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He drafted summary judgment decisions, post-hearing decisions, mediation statements, and various discovery orders for the Administrative Law Judges. He was also a judicial extern for the San Francisco Superior Court, Criminal Division Judge, where he observed and worked on various aspects of criminal law, including jury trials, preliminary hearings, and various other motions in the court proceedings.


Attorney Ray Hsu was a staff editor for the Hasting International & Comparative Law Review and he later became one of the Submissions Committee members for the Hastings Race & Poverty Law Journal to review Labor & Employment Law articles submitted by scholars and law professors nationwide and made publication recommendations. He also earned a concentration certificate in civil litigation law from UC Hastings. He designed his own Labor & Employment Law curriculum at UC Hastings by taking all of the Labor & Employment law professional skill courses offered.



Prior to opening his own law offices, Attorney Ray Hsu is a long-time volunteer with the Workers’ Rights Clinic of the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County. He worked on administrative wage claims and unemployment insurance benefits appeals. He helped numerous employees to sue for unpaid wages, overtime premiums, and penalties. He even worked with the collections attorneys to obtain large payments for the clients. Attorney Ray Hsu was also a Public Interest Fellow with the Los Angeles based Asian Pacific American Legal Center. He worked on class action employment discrimination cases and helped the staff attorneys to hold a press conference to denouce the defendant's race and age discrimination against the workers. He also gained a lot of knowle

dge about family law and immigration law, as a Public Interest Fellow. Attorney Ray Hsu is also a volunteer attorney with the monthly Southern California Chinese Lawyer Association Legal Clinic.
